  • What is the guiding privacy policy of this site?
The guiding privacy policy of this site is that no information concerning you shall be given to a third party without your consent.
    What information do you collect?
So that we may send orders and keep up to date records, we record information about details entered when ordering and items in the basket. Other information collected relates to how users are interacting with the site and which advertising is most effective. Specifically, we use Google Analytics and Google Site Stats. Users should assume that data and statistics for user on site activity may be collected on any page on the site. The following identifying information is seen by our web server and may be stored in our logs (like most web servers). This information is used for statistical analysis and session control (see below) and not to personally identify you. Indeed, in most cases the information could not personally identify you and even where it could, it would require the co-operation of your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

    IP Address
    What is the User Agent?
The User Agent information identifies which Web browser you are using and what operating system your computer is using. While this information is generally correct it can also be misleading. Different Web browsers display information on the screen differently. By knowing which Web browser you are using the Web server can customise the Web page to display correctly. If you are using an early version of a browser, some functions do not work correctly if at all. If you were using a Web browser written more than 10 years old you would not even be reading this as you would have been advised that your old browser was not supported by this site.

The following Web browsers have been tested and found to work with this Web site:

    -Internet Explorer 8 to 11
    -Firefox 3 to 27
    -Safari 3 to 7
    -Chrome 1 to 33

Your browser has identified itself as CCBot 2 and your operating system as
    What is the Referrer?
The Referrer is the page containing the last link you clicked on before this page. This can be used statistically to know how you arrived at this site but does not personally identify you in any way. If you just type in a Web address (URL) or click on a button then the referrer will be blank.
    What is the IP Address?
Every computer connected to the Internet has an IP address. However the IP address that you see above may not be the one for your computer. If you are behind a corporate firewall or an ADSL router then the IP address is probably the address of the firewall or router and not your actual computer. If you use Internet sharing (multiple computers simultaneously sharing the one modem connection) then the IP address is probably that of the host computer and not necessarily your computer. Most people connect to the Internet through an Internet Service Provider (ISP). The ISP normally dynamically allocates IP addresses for the duration of your Internet session so that each time you connect to the Internet you may get a different IP address from a pool of addresses controlled by the ISP.

In short, tracing your IP address will come to a dead end at your ISP unless you have a permanent static IP address and you explicitly advertise who you are. It would require the co-operation of your ISP to identify you by your IP address. While law enforcement authorities could identify you using your IP address, we cant. Our web pages are dynamic and respond to your selections and input. We use cookies to maintain your session and, for example, separate your shopping basket from another users shopping basket.

While there are alternatives to using cookies to distinguish one Web user from another, the alternatives have significant security deficiencies. Without cookies it is possible for one Web user to impersonate another Web user. Using cookies is integral in maintaining the privacy and security of visitors to our Web site.

    A cookie is a small file stored on your computer hard disk that is sent from the Web site you are visiting. The cookie we have placed on your hard disk for this current session contains the following information;

This in no way identifies you personally.

The cookie is not deleted from your hard disk when you leave our site but will become stale. Some Web browsers automatically delete stale cookies, others do not. A new fresh replacement cookie will be created on your next visit. You may manually delete the cookie. If you delete the cookie during your visit to our site then your session will be broken and you may be redirected back to our home page. We do not read cookies from other sites nor are we even interested in cookies from other sites. Most browser settings would not allow us to read cookies from other sites.
    What is a Session?
The internet is stateless meaning that every request made by a web browser for a particular Web page opens a new connection on a web server that is immediately closed after the page is returned. If however the Web browser is able to identify itself to the Web server when the next Web page is requested then there exists the possibility of continuity. This continuity is called a session and is a continuous period of time during which a users Web browser is viewing Web pages within the same server or domain.

By having a continuous session you are able to transmit selections to the web server that will result in customised Web pages. The classic example of this is the e-commerce site where you have a shopping basket and the items you choose appear in your basket unseen by other users of the Web site. Another example is where you filter options such as selecting only red chairs.

There are several methods of maintaining a session, each with differing merits and levels of security. One of these methods is through the use of cookies.

The session expires when the Web browser is closed or the session times out due to inactivity.

If your data from a prior session needed to be retrieved then you would have to first identify yourself by logging in so that your old data and authorities can be linked to the new session.
Do we share with others the information we collect?
No we do not share information with others apart from providing your delivery details to the shipping agent to enable them to make a delivery.
How can I change the information stored about me?
The only identifying information stored about you is what is on your registration or on your order or basket. If you believe it is in error or have any other privacy concerns then contact us by e-mail at admin@BoutiqueWallArt.com and we will endeavour to validate that you are who you claim to be and make the necessary corrections.
What security procedures are in place to protect the loss, misuse, or alteration of my information?
Internally, we restrict access to personally identifiable information. Only employees who need the information in order to do their jobs have access to it. These employees are limited in number and are committed to our privacy and security policies.
How will I be notified of changes to this privacy policy?
If this privacy policy changes then those changes will be posted here. You will not be personally advised but will be required to read this policy statement. If the policy date has not changed then nor has this policy.
