Paul Signac

Paul Signac

Paul Victor Jules Signac (1863-1935) was a French Neo-Impressionist painter. He was greatly influenced by Georges Seurat and painted in a similar style using a technique called Pointillism.

Pointillism is a technique of applying small dots of color to form patterns. Where the term refers to a technique, the actual movement it started is called neo-impressionism. Much like impressionism, neo-impressionism was highly controversial.
